ABOUT GO RED FOR WOMEN
Go Red was developed to bring attention and research dollars to a neglected area: women’s heart health. Heart disease … not cancer … is the No. 1 killer of women. Heart disease kills more women than all forms of cancer combined.
Symptoms of heart attack in women can be more subtle than in men. It may not be a sharp pain in the chest. Women sometimes have more of a feeling of fullness in the chest or pain in the arm, jaw or neck. Vomiting. Cold sweats.
While most of us have at least one risk factor for heart disease, the good news is that the vast majority of the risk factors are preventable through diet, exercise, not smoking, keeping blood pressure low, etc.
