Message From The Chair
Fran Briem, Co-Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Home Health Care and Hospice
Alliance Home Health Care and Hospice provides care to patients in the Albuquerque Metro Area and Gallup who are in need of homemaking, skilled nursing, therapy, social work, chaplain, and physician services. Working and building strong relationships with the elderly and their families by providing Home Health and Hospice services has always been a passion for Fran. As a local practicing RN for over 35 years, Fran has extensive knowledge and experience that she brings to this position.
Throughout her career, Fran has emphasized educating the community through national and local lectures, publishing chapters and articles for nursing journals and textbooks, and participating on national nursing boards. Recently, Fran is initiating the organization of a New Mexico Chapter of Mended Hearts with a local area institution. Mended Hearts is an organization that educates and provides one on one support for patients suffering from heart disease to themselves and their families. Besides the AHA Fran is also involved in other philanthropic organizations within the community that have touched her and her family on a personal level. She actively participates in the Alzheimer’s Association, Share Your Care, Road Runner Food Bank, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
Fran’s involvement in the American Heart Association and Go Red for Women stemmed from her own experience. During a routine physical exam a doctor diagnosed Fran with an aortic aneurysm. The diagnosis led to valve replacement surgery and pacemaker. After experiencing the spiritual, physical, and mental journey of surviving open heart surgery, Fran wants to share her experience and educate other women in the community of the importance of heart health. As the Go Red for Women chair, Fran hopes to unite women through awareness, healthy lifestyles, and support.
